Learn about Brevis AVS with Kiln Restaking Rendez-Vous! Wanli Zhou, Head of Ecosystem at Brevis Network, joins Edgar R. to explore the Brevis AVS. Get insights into how Brevis unlocks affordable, multi-chain historical data processing for smart contracts!

Unlocking historical insights for smart contracts

The episode introduces the challenges of using historical data within smart contracts. Currently, data accessibility can be limited, hindering the development of expressive logic. Brevis tackles this issue with their AVS solution.

Brevis AVS leverages zero-knowledge computation, allowing smart contracts to 'read' historical on-chain data efficiently. This helps developers to create more sophisticated and cost-efficient applications built on a foundation of historical information, all while upholding decentralization principles.

The Brevis AVS has already been launched on the EigenLayer mainnet, demonstrating its real-world applicability. Additionally, Brevis is actively collaborating with developers to integrate zero-knowledge proofs (ZKP) into their applications, paving the way for a future with data-driven smart contracts.

How restakers will be incentivized?

A critical question for all AVSs is how they plan to incentivize restakers. For Brevis the answer lies in a multi-layered approach designed to attract both developers and restakers.

Brevis plans to share a portion of the co-processing fees with all participants. This includes network operators, dApps building on Brevis (including restakers), and Liquid Restaking Tokens solutions. This creates a direct financial incentive for restakers, as their participation directly influences their share of the fees generated by users and protocols utilizing Brevis' services.

Beyond immediate financial rewards, Brevis is establishing a point system. This system will likely consider factors like the staked value and staking duration. Wanli explained that Brevis recognizes the value of early adopters. Developers and users who integrate with Brevis ZKP and generate usage will likely be rewarded with additional points through the system.
